Some important information about the reading level analysis.

Each story level was analyzed using the Spache (revised 1974) reading formula. This formula is considered suitable for analyzing reading materials up to the end of third grade and gives a grade level evaluation of the text. 

With any reading analysis formula, the teacher's professional judgment is an important part of the process.

IMPORTANT: These reading levels are traditionally used for print books. The addition of the 'read-to-me' features and instant help on any word greatly expands the age and reading levels at which these stories can be used!
